The Contest

7th Edition

The contest was created with the aim of creating opportunities for encounter, dialogue, and collaboration between the world of art, design, and communication academies and the world of business and technical-scientific research, two seemingly distant realities that need each other and are inevitably destined to meet.

Registration closes in...

Why C3W?

Well, the “C” stands for Competition or Contest, and so far so good.

But what about the 3 "Ws"? The three "Ws" indicate the process the contest constructs and the relationship it establishes with its stakeholders.
More specifically, they indicate the phases of the Project:

PHASE 1:

WELCOME

For us, "Welcome" has a dual meaning: it indicates both a welcoming and the " welcoming " of the project. The first phase of the competition consists of meeting, getting to know each other, and exchanging ideas and proposals. It's the moment when we introduce ourselves and choose to embrace the project as part of our journey. We therefore welcome all individuals and legal entities who embrace the initiative with enthusiasm and energy and promote it within their own organizations. The " Welcome " phase symbolizes the beginning of dialogue and the initial exchange of ideas and perspectives. We hope this mutual understanding will last over time and generate real value for all involved.

PHASE 2:

WORK

The second phase involves the implementation of the plan. This is an extremely concrete and operational phase: the young minds of the academies, guided by their professors, set to work creating innovative projects that reflect the theme proposed in each edition, taking into account not only the objectives of their own training program but also the plausible needs of potential clients. This is where flexible projects emerge, which can then be adapted and tailored to specific organizations interested in acquiring them.

PHASE 3:

WONDER

And so we arrive at the third phase: that of Wonder. Abstraction and concreteness, ideas and needs, creativity and strategy have merged to create original solutions that meet the needs of those involved, thus giving rise to something wonderful.

The projects are completed and ready to be presented and shared with all C3W followers and supporters, not only during the awards ceremony at the prestigious Kilometro Rosso Innovation District, but also through the competition's digital channels and the published book donated to those in attendance during the ceremony or available for purchase in bookstores.

From here, we expect the journey to have an open ending and we hope that for some it will be endless, that our respective
paths will cross and that we will begin to walk together towards new goals.

THEME 7th EDITION

THE FORM

OF THE CARE

We live in an era where everything seems to push us to hide imperfections, both in our personal and professional lives. Critical judgment of anything that doesn't fit a shared standard leads us to abandon the "different" for the "normal," the old for the new. Objects break, wear out, and are thrown away. And, unfortunately, it's not just objects that are affected. Fragility is seen as a flaw to be corrected or, worse, removed. But what if we tried to look at it from another perspective?

"The Form of Care" was born from a simple intuition: care isn't just prevention, it's not just protection. Sometimes, care is what happens after a breakup. It's the gesture that welcomes, that repairs, that transforms what's broken into something new, perhaps different from the original, but perhaps more authentic and meaningful.

The proposal draws inspiration from Kintsugi , the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with liquid gold. The invitation is not so much to faithfully replicate its aesthetic, but rather to reinterpret the technique in a contemporary and ethical way.

Through the use of damaged, recovered, and forgotten materials and a focus on objects marked by time and use, the theme proposes a new idea of beauty.

The "scars" that appear on them don't seek to hide the flaw, but to enhance it. They become tangible traces of the care received, of the attention to detail; concrete signs of consideration and respect for the totality of a story.

The theme of the Seventh Edition of C3W begins precisely here: it lies at the intersection of art and social thought. It invites us to reconsider the very concept of perfection. To look with new eyes at what bears the marks of time, use, or differences. To imagine a society capable of embracing its cracks and transforming them into something meaningful, recognizing them as an integral part of a story worth telling.

As per tradition, C3W adopts an open approach that guarantees students maximum creative freedom, provided that the projects submitted are consistent with the proposed theme. The goal is to stimulate creativity, innovation, and critical thinking to represent the complexity and diversity of the theme through proposals that connect different worlds: their own educational background, the social and cultural reality in which we live, and the business world, developing the ability to forge new connections through design, communication, and the visual arts.
